The Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) industry has undergone a growth of 16.7% between the years 2007 to 2012. Being a very fast progressing technological industry, many companies have ventured to be successful in this particular industry, though few have come far in being capable of offering sustainable service. To be eligible for being reviewed, the companies were required to have maintained a cached homepage from four years ago. This page was examined by Colocation America to get the feel of previous versions of the site. This was a good test as it was helpful in finding sites that had adequate users to be cached and also to gauge the quality of the site. Having passed the initial test, there was the tall order of having to narrow them down to five. This was done by comparing all the companies and their performances over the last 4 to 7 years. Colocation America considered things like specializing on small businesses and even user interfaces. After going through various sites, Colocation America decided on the five that have not only been able to survive in the industry, but have done so with quite a bit of success and have been able to sustain in this highly competitive market.
Being a VoIP hosting provider, Colocation America is always on the look out for best VoIP providers, therefore their ranking system is valued.
