cPanel Obtains Siteocity.com Web Hosting
On February 21st, cPanel, the most outstanding control panel in the web hosting industry, revealed recently that its auxiliary, Hostbed, L.L.C had obtained Siteocity.com. The pair will enable cPanel to perform real time examinations of its products directly. However, there will be no changes made to the original name of the hosting solutions provider while it’s under the aegis of this control panel.
“With the Siteocity.com acquisition cPanel will be able to gain a deeper understanding of how website owners use cPanel’s software,” said Aaron Phillips, cPanel’s Vice President of Operations. “This will be accomplished by having direct access to live server data, help desk tickets, and hosting company feedback. We are looking for real world testing of installation, configuration compatibility, and reliability.”
The company spent nearly a year ferreting out the ideal organization for their needs. They required one that had at least three years of experience under its belt, a 100% cPanel and WHM system, approximately 1000 clients and without a VPS or dedicated plan.
“By running Siteocity.com we hope to achieve a deeper connection to the hosting industry as a whole,” Phillips said. “We are certainly not operating Siteocity.com in order to compete with our customers. Ultimately, cPanel customers will get a stronger, more reliable product.”
