Posted on August 8th, 2010Netfirms web hosting, a Canadian web hosting company, has been trying to shift its datacenter for the past few months. In an official statement, the company did announce that migration is complete. However, it looks that the process is still going on as web hosting again had become unavailable for few hours.
The situation is really grim for customers as they were been waiting for the finalization of datacenter migration and though it is finally over, as confirmed by the company, the disruptions are still there.
Netfirms writes in an official statement that they are being working hard for the last few months on migrating user emails, databases and websites from their existing datacenter to a newly built datacenter. They confirmed that the process completed on Sunday Aug 1, 2010, but they would be fine-tuning the network environment to provide the customers excellent services. The process would take possibly two more weeks to complete.
The company has stated clearly that as they would be tweaking their servers to produce excellent efficiency, some customers will experience irregular connectivity. Due to this, there will be delays in answering calls and responding to emails from Support Center because of high volume of queries.

The statement from the Netfirms support team was good to console many customers but the latest disruptions in the service suggest that the company is having problems in settling things down. Many customers have already shifted to GoDaddy as they are not sure about the stability of services from Netfirms. We hope things would go well for Netfirms in the coming days.
