Fasthosts, the UK based web hosting company, made a pronouncement recently stating they had conducted research regarding the different ‘cloud attitudes’ of various businesses. According to the hosting organization, many UK companies prefer not to use a cloud computing service as part of their deals.
According to the study (which was undertaken by the IDC), several UK organizations understand cloud based solutions and how they can benefit their business clients. However, almost 60% don’t use any kind of cloud service at all, while the rest don’t prefer to start utilizing one anytime in the future either. Many actually go to great pains to avoid adopting such techniques in their business dealings as well.
The study also revealed that 82% webhosting companies realize the importance of off-site data backup. However, the research also showed that a mere 16% utilize cloud based techniques for them. According to Fasthosts, the reason for those alarming numbers lies in UK business’ ignorance regarding the cloud’s many benefits and their lack of skilled personnel.
Fasthosts is an expert regarding these kinds of studies. The webhost considers them an innovative way of boosting their image for their customers. In November, they had conducted a study regarding the importance of feedback from internet users.
