GoDaddy

GoDaddy Review: With a slew of Add-on apps and extensive language support GoDaddy is easily one of the best hosting sites.

GoDaddy Blurb:

GoDaddy.com is the world’s largest domain name registrar and is the flagship company of The Go Daddy Group, Inc.

The Go Daddy Group of companies also includes Wild West Domains, Inc., a reseller of domains and domain-related products and services; Domains by Proxy, a private registration service; Starfield Technologies, a research and development affiliate; and Blue Razor Domains, a membership-based discount registrar.

As an ICANN-accredited domain registrar, Go Daddy has more names under management than any other registrar, offers products at prices up to 70% less than the competition and supports them all with world-class 24/7 live customer service.

  1. GoDaddy.com has provided really great phone support for all of my website hosting and webmail questions. Their prices are in the “normal” range. The only downside for me is that their online tools are pretty complicated for the average user. I would recommend them for hosting if you’re an experienced web designer who appreciates awesome customer service from someone who speaks English…without an accent!

I am using godaddy economy hosting over the last 4 months and it is quite tough to measure a hosting service within this short period of time i guess. However, i would like to state whatever experience i’ve gathered.

    The Good Things:

The uptime is simply superb, i guess its full 100%. I’ve never experienced a server down issue within the 4 months span of time. The service is cheap and is very much affordable and appropriate for starters. Another notable thing is that they are offering various free gifts like adsense credits, yahoo credits and so on.

    The Bad Things:

When signing up, i’ve seen they said they allow 10 mysql databases, so as a starter, i thought i can host up to 10 sites in their economy package. Later on, after communicating several times to their helpdesk, i got the answer that i have to switch to the advance package which is quite expensive for me. Moreover, they dont provide live chat support, so i had to wait long to get their answer.

Secondly, they dont provide cPanel, which i also came to know after signing up (maybe its my fault that i didnt make enough research about them). Their site and the hosting control center is so heavy that it takes several minutes to load.

As just a starter, with all the discomforts, i am happy with the uptime. But i surely will think of switching the host later on even though the procedure of transferring my site would be pathetic for me with a non-cpanel user interface.

    Thanks all
