Green House Data made an announcement recently stating they had successfully partnered with Deerns America, an engineering firm. The merger was made to supply the mechanical and electrical company with expert data center advice and state-of-the-art Green Cooling air conditioning in Cheyenne Wyoming. The brand new designs will enhance the Green House Data facility to function 75% more efficiently than other data centers.
The center is going to be about 25,000 square feet in length and will be inaugurated in the beginning of 2013. The new facility will be responsible for churning out free cooling via designs by Deerns America. This course of action will enable Green House Data to utilize 1.16 Power Usage Effectiveness and a 1.22 PUE as well.
“This progressive step is an exciting advancement for our company adding additional data center space utilizing energy efficient 100 percent free cooling,” said Shawn Mills, President of Green House Data. “I see the increasing demand for low-energy cooling systems, green technologies and efficiencies as an avenue to reduce utility costs and offer these savings to our clients in this competitive industry.”
The new apparatus is capable of generating up to 40 kW of IT per load rack. Outer air is extracted via a plate heat exchanger. This, in turn cools the IT room by absorbing the hot air within which is then circulated again. In this way, the air is recycled in an environment friendly manner and the room is chilled at a comfortable temperature. Additionally, the evaporating air circulating the rooms will utilize very little energy and will not need refrigeration based cooling apparatus to work either.
Besides this advantage, the design does away with the need for plenums underneath the floors since the systems can cool the computer room floor directly and can easily be enhanced via new units in the future.
