Web.com, a well known web hosting provider released a statement on Friday stating that it has introduced a simple yet strong tool which will allow small organizations to develop mobile websites.
“We’re committed to helping small businesses capitalize on the growing mobile opportunity,” said David L. Brown, chairman and CEO of Web.com. “Our solution provides a simple, call-to-action interface for those engaging in local search, and frees small businesses from having to create and maintain one website for typical internet users and a separate site just for mobile users.”
The press release also states that the Web.com’s Mobile Website service identifies Internet using mobile gadgets visiting a website and then transfers them to the “mobile friendly, icon-based views” of important data like directions, contact information and hours of operation.
The service is enabled to automatically develop mobile websites from available content, which allows the site operators to play no part in pricey and time wasting redesigns which mobile users need to download apps or invest in and sell another domain name.
Web.com’s Mobile Website service is an important tool used by resellers to provide them with value added services which aid them in distinguishing themselves from other similar organizations. And as the trend of smartphones and tablets is increasing, it is becoming very necessary for hosting providers to develop such services for their clients to compete in the business world.
The entire content of the website is easily altered into a mobile web view, keeping in the mind the two to four inch screens of the mobile phones. The data is shown in a similar, icon based interface which allows the website to open in lesser time than the old website content. The web host is now also providing this Mobile Website service to the recent clients who have registered through the subsidiary Register.com which it purchased in August last year.
