In his April 14, 2011 blog, Roger Capriotti of Microsoft announced how IE9 Blocker Toolkit, which allows them to prevent the software from automatically being installed before they are ready to roll it out to their networks. This is available through a link on Capriotti’s blog and via Microsoft’s site.
IE9 is designed around HTML5, the newest version of the code that drives the web. It includes several enhancements, many of which are designed to integrate with Windows 7. Users will be able, for instance, to add web content to their taskbars and to access webpages in a similar fashion to how they access programs at present. There are other conveniences being offered, as well, and the full version was released on March 28. Users should start seeing the updates and being offered the upgrade by their computers in the near future and website owners will have to start making changes to their sites to take advantage of the new features in HTML5 and the newest version of Internet Explorer.
