Internet Explorer Browser Market to Witness a 50% Reduction by Next Year

The reports publicized, recently, by Net Applications reveal that Microsoft Internet Explorer is constantly going downhill. During the last 10 months, the number of web users has been reduced, making Microsoft suffer a 5% reduction in this number; , on the other hand, Google’s Chrome seems to be winning the game by experiencing a 6% increase in the number of web browsers. The number of users, still using Internet explorer, is likely to reduce even further by the next year. However, a good news is, Microsoft’s IE9 has witnessed a rise in the number of web browsers by about 2 % in the last 2 months, however, the trouble is IE9 can only be used with Windows 7 and Vista.

Among various operating systems, Internet Explorer 8 is by far considered to be the most used browser. Google Chrome is placed at number 2 position, in terms of popularity with 11 % of the market. Internet Explorer 6 is ranked on number three, though it isn’t much liked by the web developers; its popularity remained unruffled. Google Chrome, on the other side, has gained wide popularity owing to its easy upgrade process without disturbing the web browsers a bit.

Firefox, by Mozilla, is holding its place tight with just 1% decrease in browser market. Mozilla, inspired by Google Chrome’s upgrade system, has introduced a new upgrade cycle similar to it, since the previous updating system wasn’t as efficient as Chrome’s. Apple’s Safari browser has experienced an increase of 1% in browser market, during last year, while Opera browser has almost gone in the background, since its market share has decreased from 2.42% to 1.68% over one year period.
