MagmaHost is one of the newer hosting companies having been introduced in late 2007. There are a range of plans available from start up users to professionals. With the start- up plan, which is the lowest web-host they provide in terms of cost, you receive 8GB disk space and 40GB storage, which is more than enough for any medium sized website. On the other end of the spectrum, there is the professional plan whereby 35GB disk-space and a massive 150GB storage.
Previously I had been with HostGator for over two years and decided a change was necessary having produced a new website which did not need so much bandwidth or disk space; and thus i stumbled across MagmaHost on Google. Furthermore, I have been with them for 4 months up til now.
In regards to benefits, the price is almost unbeatable and many would find it hard to track down another hosting company cheaper than this. The start-up is only $1 month or $10 a year which is ideal for young guns to the internet. The professional plan for higher internet users costs only $6.95 or $69 a year.
Additionally, the uptime has been faultless as since I have been with them it has not been down once. The loading time is quick as the server load for my current website being 1.31 which is ideal for a weblog. Also, the idea that you can host more than one site on the $1 a month plan is highly commendable as it very economical.
However, the main disadvantage seems to be the support, as when contacting them they sometimes do take longer than 24 hours which can be a pain and in addition, their feedback is a tad useless at times.
My experiences thus far have been much better than hostgator because of the price and surprisingly the uptime has been much better. Moreover, the Cpanel is very easy to use and also the ‘anti-spam’ inclusive plugin is very useful indeed, blocking spamming viruses on your website.
I recommend ‘MagmaHost’ to anyone who needs hosting on a small budget and they are unbeatable at pricing! Though MagmaHost are not as popular as Hostgator or Hostmonster, the hosting company are raising through the ranks quickly as a result of its huge benefits and so it is a positive review from me!
I guess all pro magmahost reviews are somehow from it’s own stuff because the truth is that magmahost sucks big time – the livin proof is that I am waisting my time to write a review against them after I’ve struggled for 3 weeks to have my tickets solved – now I fear that I will get scammed for my seo indexed domain as they don’t respond to my domain transfer requests.
Don’t even bother to try them! You’ll lose time and money … maybe only if you have some killing server script that you don’t want to run to your “good” hosting.
Just to make myself clear unsolved tickets were not my only issue. I had my websites down, have them moved around without prior notice(that hearts my seo), I have been billed 4 months earlier and no response for my requests about what was the invoice for – had to pay it eitherway cuz my website was suspended … so I’m runnig out of time but all the bad a hosting company can do to you has been done from magmahost.
Well, I was a customer of MagmaHost until today. My site has been running fine, then all of a sudden out of nowheres, lastnight my site went down. I didn’t think nothing of it at first, let it go. Few hours later, still down… I submitted a support ticket and it went unanswered…. Here we are 24 hours later and still no reply… I emailed, sent Skype messages and tickets. No reply. I asked for a US server and they put me on a UK server. Here is the IP of the server they put me on: 62.19.47.50. It pulls to a UK address… The IP is currently down. So I switched to another host. So far hostgator has been awesome… Live support is actually LIVE and ticket response time is quick. So to Magmahost, I say this to you: Get your act together. Just because you’re not a US based business you can get in trouble for not providing what you advertise. Thanks for the few weeks you were a good host. Now your crap.
To people needing hosting: Look around for stuff about Magmahost. They are really trash… Every few months they just go nuts and everyone loses, except them cause they got your money… Choose someone else…
