The open source web server developer NGINX joined forces with the web hosting service provider Parallels recently in a mutually beneficial merger. The partnership will allow the latter to expand their hosting product line while allowing the former to improve their servers. Additionally, the agreement will also enable NGINX to incorporate its open source tools into its Parallels Plesk Panel 11.
Besides this, the course of action will also provide extra controls to users to manage NGINX within the Parallels Plesk Panel.
The news was announced in Orlando during an event which holds host to thousands of web hosts and cloud based organizations on an annual basis, namely the Parallels Summit 2012.
“We are pleased to offer our customers the option to offload resource-consuming tasks like concurrency, compression, caching and SSL acceleration from Apache to achieve more scalability and robustness with Parallels Plesk Panel,” said Craig Bartholomew, Vice President, Shared Hosting and Control Panels at Parallels. “NGINX’s innovative technology allows us to address the need for managing concurrency issues precisely and with full backward compatibility with the existing Parallels Plesk Panel installations.”
NGINX’s and Parallel’s joint venture has enables clients to install and customize the former’s web proxy before an Apache web server. Additionally, such settings will also quicken web content delivery to customers and facilitate performance.
NGINX was just ranked as the runner up web server operating websites and has had over 60,000,000 Internet domain marks to its name. Launched in 2004, the organization has been providing clients with optimum performance, concurrency and efficient web networks. It has added Parallels Plesk Panel 11 in its suite of tools to provide its clients with the best web hosting control panel in the market that is capable of operating large scale websites and design studios the world over. The partnership will optimize performance and provide efficiency at the same time to web hosting companies that take advantage of this highly sought after and rare opportunity.
“Parallels is one of the largest and most influential companies on the market, providing state-of-the-art hosting and cloud infrastructure products,” said Andrey Alexeev, co-founder of NGINX. “We are honored to inaugurate this new partnership and to be able to offer service providers the additional performance benefits of using NGINX with Parallels Plesk Panel 11.”
