The new Managed Hosting can be availed for any of the company’s offered products.

Other sections will be managed by the company. SoftLayer stated that this special feature opens new venues to reliability and flexibility options.

“This is Managed Hosting the SoftLayer way,” says Lance Crosby, SoftLayer’s chief executive officer, quoted in the press release. “We’ve paired our unique advantages in automation with an around-the-clock team of certified support and engineering personnel to create a managed hosting offering that’s more scalable, reliable, and cost-effective than any other, and practically on-demand.”

Main features provided in the service comprise of single business day provisioning, automated organization and management, round the clock support from SoftLayer’s technical team, reasonable pricing, month long contracts without any long-term commitments and real time reporting through the dash board.

The basic settings for Managed Hosting comprise of 1Gbps network port, exclusive public as well as private interfaces, virus protection, a virtual dedicated support, an eVault maintained backup (50GB), a bare metal restore plugin and managed Nimsoft monitoring.
