Storm on Demand lowers Bandwidth Costs further

Liquid Web cloud hosting offshoot, Storm On Demand, instituted another round of price reductions for its bandwidth services, effective as of now. The price cuts, described as “significant”, are applicable to both current and prospective Storm On Demand users.

The new pricing model includes free inbound data transfer while offering outbound services at dramatically marked down rates of $0.05 per gigabyte – slashing customer invoices by almost 80%. The cloud hosting company previously charged $0.15/gig for outgoing bandwidth; inbound transfers were $0.08/gig.

“These price reductions are a result of our ongoing network improvements including expanded network capacity and the addition of many important new peering partners,” the Storm On Demand press release explains. The company now partners with Google, Amazon, Facebook and others, as per the official statement.

The company has also reduced prices for its bandwidth bundle plans, including free inbound transfers. Users of both bundled and non-bundled bandwidth packages will realize savings beginning immediately.

Storm On Demand sees the new pricing structure as further proof of its commitment to providing customers with superior bandwidth solutions at affordable rates, stressing, “Storm on Demand is simultaneously improving our networking infrastructure while also reducing costs to customers.” The new bandwidth payment plans allow “users to generate instant savings by not paying for bandwidth they’re not using and not paying a premium for the bandwidth they are using,” ensuring that “ users…receive the best pricing on bandwidth, even for low usage.”
