UK Based Hosting Provider Nublue Joins RIPE

NuBlue, the UK based webhosting provider, made an announcement recently regarding their merger with the European Internet Registry, RIPE. The Registry is responsible for supplying online resource allocations, registration services and co-op activities for the World Wide Web. The membership was taken up by the organization to become a more independent entity and as preparation for IPv6. Incidentally, NuBlue will be provided its own IPv4 and IPv6 web addresses.

Besides this, the UK webhost will be allowed to create an Internet infrastructure of its own, along with the connectivity it needs to facilitate enterprises across the globe. Since 2005, NuBlue has experienced a massive increase in income regardless of the economic crises.

According to the Technical Director of the company, Tom  Ashworth, “As a rapidly expanding UK host, we have reached the point where we need absolute control of our network. Even though we are a hosting company rather than an ISP, we feel that in order to continue offering an award winning service to our clients we must have control of our own IP addresses. This will also help in our ongoing preparations for IPv6.”

The company will upgrade to the IPv6 in the upcoming months gradually in order to prevent disruptions in client activity. The latter will be informed beforehand regarding the change of IP addresses (none of which will belong to their allocated pool).
