Web hosting and web design services provider Web.com has unveiled its plan for sponsoring the PGA. The company has made public its 10 year commitment with PGA for the said sponsorship. Web.com has become the umbrella sponsor of the newly introduced tour by PGA named Web.com. We all know that GoDaddy has always been the frontrunner in sponsoring sports as a web hosting company. However, this counts to be a major sports sponsorship victory for Web.com. The previous umbrella sponsor for PGA was Nationwide Insurance. The story doesn’t end at getting the umbrella sponsorship. Web.com has also been awarded the status of official marketing partner status for PGA Tour, Champions Tour, and Web.com Tour.

Web.com has been in the web hosting industry since 1997. The company went public through its IPO (initial public offering) in 2005. The company has seen an unprecedented growth during the years. It previously had 50,000 customers with annual revenues of $30 million. However, it is now having 3 million customers with its annual revenues touching to a whopping $500 million. Sponsorships like these can turn the tides for any big organization. GoDaddy has followed the sponsorsip like frenzy by sponsoring some of the very big events like NFL, Nascar, and Indy. By sponsoring the PGA tour, Web.com will be able to better expose its brand to general public. The company has so far remained quite didn’t go for such massive sponsorships. But its senior management thinks that it has now reached the point where it needs to make an impact on the public and help grow its revenues.

The CEO of the company revealed that Web.com had already been exploring different opportunities but wasn’t able to find something that appealing. It finally was able to hook itself with the prestigious PGA and make an impact that would last.
