Go Daddy, one of the largest Web hosting providers, domain name registrar and new SSL Certificates provider, announced that it has singled out India for its global expansion. To get these expansion plans into action, Go Daddy has taken on Rajiv Sodhi as Managing Director of the Indian branch. Sodhi is Go Daddy’s very first international executive and will be located in the Indian capital, New Delhi. Sodhi will be in charge of Go Daddy’s entrance in Indian market and is in the process of putting together a team.
“We knew we needed an experienced technologist, with a deep understanding of India’s culture and our Go Daddy brand of customer service. Rajiv’s 14 years of experience in the technology space brings all these qualities to our business, as well as his strategic view on how to help grow online businesses,” Warren Adelman, Go Daddy’s CEO stated. “Together, our vision is to expand our footprint in India, hire locally and serve customers in India with people who speak their language.”
Sodhi has an MBA and an engineering degree, specializing in Computer Science. Before Go Daddy, Sodhi worked at Microsoft India from 2001. He also used to be the Director of SMB and Cloud Business for Microsoft. Sodhi’s expertise lies with medium-sized businesses that plan on enhancing their online presence.
Go Daddy has been serving small-to-midsize businesses in the US and other countries by providing affordable, feature-rich products and responsive customer support. At present, Go Daddy has over 10 million customers all over the world and has provided more than 50 million domain names. Go Daddy has been distributing “.in” domain names, India’s country code extension, since 2009.
“Go Daddy’s understanding of small business needs, their capacity to serve a large customer base and their commitment to first-rate service are the primary attributes that drew me to Go Daddy India,” Sodhi said. “Go Daddy offers a one-stop shop for small businesses and consumers who are looking to grow their businesses on the Internet. From a simple domain name, or a mobile website, to cloud services, Go Daddy has it all.”
Go Daddy is headquartered in Scottsdale, Ariz., USA. It has data centers in Europe and Asia, and an office in Canada. The envisioned Indian branch of Go Daddy is projected to be its largest international office and is to be completed before the end of this year.
“This is the dawn of a new era for Go Daddy,” Sodhi stated. “In the months ahead, Go Daddy India will be ramping up our investments in people, assets and resources.”
